The
connectedness of body and mind can be traced to our beginnings
as an embryo. In the third week of life, there are three layers
of cells. The outer, or ectoderm, eventually develops into the
skin, brain, and nervous system. Making the physical structures
that allow us to feel physical sensations from the same source
as those through which we experience emotion.

The
Body
is our dwelling place in the life. Things to support and help
balance the body are nutrition, breathing, exercise, stretching,
relaxation, sleep and feelings.
The
Mind
is the part of us that reasons, understands, remembers, thinks,
and adapts. Our mind processes what we believe and we can change
our mind quickly. The body responds to our mind changes. The mind
involves emotions, behavior, self-concept and coping.
The Spirit
is the part of us that trancends. Our spiritual selves "Know".
Spiritual wellness consists of faith, hope and love.
